My qualifications

I hold a master’s degree in Educational Psychology from Auxilium University of Rome. I qualified as a Counsellor and as a Transactional Analysis Psychotherapist at Metanoia Institute in London.

I am also trained to work with clients who may have eating disorders, addictions, adult survivors of sexual abuse, trauma, anxiety and depression. I also offer group therapy, couple counselling and EMDR.

My orientation

My main approach is Relational Transactional Analysis.

Transactional Analysis is an integrative approach to the theory of psychology and psychotherapy. It is integrative as it includes elements of psychoanalytic, humanistic and cognitive theories.

TA is based on the notion that we have three ‘ego-states’ to our personality. These internal models are Parent, Child and Adult and we play out these roles with one another in our relationships. Often this is done out of awareness and can comprise much of our internal dialogue. Through this method internal conflicts can be understood and communication with people can be analysed and improved.

Relational TA focuses its attention on the therapeutic relationship as the central feature in effective therapy. The quality of relationship between client and therapist and its dynamics become essential to discover and unfold the unconscious processes. In the relational model, the negotiation of the relationship between client and therapist per se offers the opportunity for change.

Professional standards

I am supervised by a qualified clinical supervisor. I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and of the British Psychological Society (BPS).

North London Counselling and Psychotherapy is within easy reach of Barnet, Finchley, Friern Barnet, Crouch End, Highgate, Muswell Hill, New Southgate, Southgate, Bounds Green, Hendon, Golders Green and Arnos Grove.
